Tom Brady is the unquestionable leader
of the New England Patriots and played tremendously in the 2010 season reverting back to his old form before he suffered a knee injury. Unfortunately the New York Jets created a defensive scheme that shut down the Pats explosive offense in the divisional round of the playoffs. The past 2 seasons ended in divisional losses so Brady is focused on perfection for every single play. The intense focus resonates throughout the team pushing everyone to play at their highest level.
The offseason saw a lot of turnover offensively and defensively.
Coach Belichick is not afraid to cut loose high draft picks as was evidenced in the release of Safety Brandon Meriweather.
The signing of veteran Andre Carter may come at a great value when they play in the 3-4 defense. Offensively Chad Ocho Cinco comes to New England after playing his entire career in Cincinnati.
The two franchises could not be any more different so Ocho Cinco will have to earn playing time with hard work and discipline.
He will have to run precise routes and block effectively.
Kevin Faulk is one of the old vets on the club and coming off of an injury he will look to re-establish himself as a reliable check down and life line for Brady. Being that
there is not a wealth of experience on the
defensive side of the ball many analysts
are expecting the Patriots defense to be better than last season.
Once again the New York Jets will be the main rival for the division crown.
Coach Rex Ryan devised a defensive game plan in the playoffs that was a marked difference from the regular season. Relying on nickel and dime defensive sets the Jets stymied the Patriots offense. Darrelle Revis basically takes away half of the field and is such as valuable tool in scheming.
See all the
Patriot stars while attending a game in
Foxborough this year. Patriot Place is a
nice shopping and entertainment center that
is adjacent to Gillette Stadium. It features
more than 1.3 million square feet of shopping,
dining, and entertainment.
Boston is one of the most passionate sports
cities and the support for the club is tremendous.
The success they have had the past 16 years
have made the Patriots franchise one to model
after in all of professional sports. Many
players and coaches have been purged by
other NFL clubs to try to replicate the blueprint
for success. One example is in Kansas City
with Scott Pioli and in Atlanta with Thomas Dmitroff where both are general managers. The AFC East division
will be very competitive once again with no club giving
up an inch. The Division crown will be a battle between
the Pats and Jets in an exciting year full of surprises. It will
be interesting to see if the Patriots can
get the Super Bowl after suffering consecutive playoff losses at home. Show your support
